2-Amino-5-nitrophenol has been used as starting material in the synthesis of series of (Z)-2-(substituted aryl)-N-(3-oxo-4-(substituted carbamothioyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[b][1,4]oxazin-7-yl) hydrazine carboxamides, as semi permanent (nonoxidative) hair colorant and as toner in permanent (oxidative) hair dye products, in synthesis of series of 7-benzylamino-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-ones, anticonvulsant agents. Also used as a reactant for, diazotation and coupling reactions, preparation of biologically and pharmacologically active molecules. It is also applied in hair dyes and to make azo dyes.

Aplicaciones
El 2-amino-5-nitrofenol se ha utilizado como material de partida en la síntesis de series de carboxamidas de hidrozina de (Z)-2-(arilo sustituido)-N-(3-oxo-4-(carbamotioilo sustituido)-3,4-dihidro-2H-benzo[b][1,4]oxazin-7-il), como tinte para cabello (nonoxidativo) semipermanente, como tonificante en productos de tinte capilar (oxidativo) permanentes, en la síntesis de series de 7-bencilamino-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-onas y como agente anticonvulsivo. También se utiliza como reactante para reacciones de diazotación y acoplamiento, en la preparación de moléculas biológicamente activas y farmacológicamente activas. También se aplica en tintes para el cabello y para hacer colorantes azoicos.

Solubilidad
No soluble en agua. La solubilidad en metanol produce una turbidez muy leve. Soluble en alcohol, benceno, acetona y éter dietílico.

Almacenar lejos de agentes oxidantes. Mantenga el recipiente bien cerrado en un lugar fresco, seco y bien ventilado.
