4-tert-Butylbenzoyl chloride is used in the synthesis of 9,9?-spirobifluorene-bridged bipolar systems containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole-conjugated oligoaryl and triaryllamine moieties. It is also used in the preparation of 2-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole.

Aplicaciones
El cloruro de 4-terc-butilbenzoílo se utiliza en la síntesis de sistemas bipolares puenteados con 1,3,4-espirobifluoreno que contienen fracciones de oligoarilo y triarillamina 9,9,′-oxadiazol-conjugadas. También se utiliza en la preparación de 2-(4-terc-butilfenil)-5-(4-metoxifenil)-1,3,4-oxadiazol.
