Descripción
Calretinin is encoded by the CALB2 gene located on chromosome 16. It is a troponin C superfamily protein having six EF-hand structural motifs. The EF motif allows the protein to bind calcium, and function in calcium signaling, calcium buffering, and modulating neuronal excitability.
