Descripción
Sorbitan sesquioleate is an additive found in food, veterinary products, and household items. Sorbitan esters being nonionic surface agents are used as excipients in veterinary medicinal products. Emollient ester of this compound offers a smooth feel 'coated' after-feel to the skin and is used in cosmetics. It acts as a emulsification and lubricating agent.

AplicacionesEl sesquioleato de sorbitano es un aditivo que se encuentra en alimentos, productos veterinarios y artículos domésticos. Los ésteres de sorbitano, que son agentes superficiales no iónicos, se utilizan como excipientes en medicamentos veterinarios. El éster emoliente de este compuesto ofrece una sensación suave de ‘recubrimiento‘ de la piel y se utiliza en cosméticos. Actúa como agente emulsificante y lubricante.
Solubilidad
Insoluble en agua fría, agua caliente. Soluble en aceite mineral y acetato de etilo.
Notas
